IKEA catalogue

1. What is the IKEA catalogue?

It is an annual publication by IKEA HK in two versions, English and Chinese. In it you will find one-third of our product range laid out in easy-to-read format, complete with details. But it is more than a catalogue - you'll discover affordable solutions to maximise space, tips and ideas for a better living, and inspiration to build your dream home. It also lists the prices of the products which will remain valid for one year - except during the spot sale periods, when they go even lower!

2. How can I get a copy of the IKEA catalogue?

The IKEA catalogue is mass-distributed in large scale residential estates all around Hong Kong around September. Or you can stop by the IKEA store near you for a free copy. While stock lasts.

3. When does the new catalogue come out?

The annual catalogue comes out around September of each year. It lists the prices of the products which will remain valid for one year.

4. How environmentally friendly is the IKEA catalogue?

Our catalogues are printed on totally chlorine-free paper and contain at least 10-15% post-consumer waste. No rainforest or old-growth fibres are used. The pre-press process is 100% digital, which means no film is used and none of the associated chemicals. No optical brighteners are used on the paper.

1. Can someone help me plan and design rooms?

2. How can I get large items home?

Most IKEA products are flat-packed in sturdy cardboard boxes. It makes them easy to carry home. By taking them home yourself, you can put the delivery driver's wages straight into your own pocket and save money.

But if you need a hand, home delivery is always available. Our delivery service covers not only Hong Kong, but also outlying islands and Macau.

3. What is the delivery lead time?

The delivery lead time is usually between 3 to 5 days, depending on the area of delivery and subject to the availability of our truck resource.

4. What if I want to have the products assembled?

IKEA products are generally easy to assemble and require no special tools. However, if you prefer, assembly service is also available. The charge is 10% of your purchased goods, to a maximum of $1,200(except outlying islands). Please note that this assembly service is strictly limited to IKEA product parts assembly and not applicable to kitchen areas. For details, please click here.

5. Why does IKEA charge customers on delivery and assembly service?

You see, unlike other furniture stores, right from the start, we do not build the delivery and assembly costs into the price of our products. So you can choose whether to use these additional services, and at an affordable charge.

6. Why are items sometimes out of stock?

We do make every effort to ensure that what you see in the catalogue would be available. But some items can be so popular that there is never enough. Generally, we can estimate when a product should be back in stock based on the lead time given. As IKEA products are manufactured all over the world, shipping takes time. That is why some items may be out of stock.

7. Do you custom-make furniture?

All IKEA products are designed in Sweden and imported, that is why they are not custom-made. But you will also notice that most of our furnishings are modular in nature, which means you can 'customise' by picking pieces that would fit your own interior.

8. Do you accept returns?

IKEA offers a 30-Day Return & Exchange Guarantee. If you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, simply return both the original Sales Memo and the unused item in its original packagewithin 30 days of the date of the Sales Memo. We are pleased to arrange an exchange or refund. We regret that we cannot accept returns for refund or exchange of IKEA Gift Vouchers, plants, damaged glassware, earthenware, mirror, unwrapped mattresses, bedlinens, cut fabric, cut blinds, light bulbs, bargain items, discounted goods, food items or items damaged after acknowledgment of receipt (except due to manufacturing faults). No credit will be given for exchange of items of lower value. For any return/ refund/ exchange of products that require collection services, We will impose a service charge upon the request.

All of our products are labeled "Design and Quality, IKEA of Sweden."

15. What does the product guarantee include?
Please refer to Product Guarantee Click here for details.

16. Is there a sewing and alteration service for curtains?

17. If I have placed an order, how long do I have before I need to pick it up or have it delivered?

You need to pick it up or have it delivered within one month of the purchase date. Except outlying islands, an administration fee of $70 will be charged for deliveries that are re-scheduled with less than 24 hours' notice, or delivery failure as no one is at home and delivery needs to be rescheduled. If you would like to deliver products to outlying island, you may click here for more details.

18. Why is there only one IKEA sale throughout the year?

At IKEA, we are offering our regular items at the lowest price already. Unlike other shops, we do not mark up and then offer sale discounts.
