TROGEN - from deep in the forest

When we set out to produce a series of children's furniture, there were a few small requirements. The products had to be convertible, to change as the child's needs changed. They had to be made of solid wood and be environmentally friendly. They had to be inexpensive. And most important, kids should love them.

So we had work to do. First we found a supplier deep in the forests of northern Sweden. Together, we wanted to adapt an old Scandinavian handicraft - tongue and groove boards - to create panels that would fit into frames. The light pine matched the brightness and freshness of a child's world.

Next we chose a wax surface treatment that kids tended to prefer. It was environmentally friendly, and also proved to be less expensive than a glossy lacquer. It seems kids have good instincts.

Because we found a supplier that could do everything right there, we saved both money and stress on the environment. Products in flat packages were even placed directly on the railway wagons in the factory.

TROGEN has travelled very far, making its way from deep in the forest into children's homes. And like a forest, these furnishings grow as children grow. So they have something to call their own year after year.
