Let bold colours collide with unexpected patterns, throw in soft shapes and a playful mix of materials and stir it all together. Then put your own twist on what’s in trend right now.
A colourful party with different kinds of glasses, like FRAMKALLA glasses with a curvy, bold pattern in red and blue.
The great mismatch
A collection of odd-one-outs can be just as, if not more effectful than seeking alignment. Stools, chairs, blond wood and soft shapes, together in mismatching harmony (confetti is optional).
IKEA Interior Designer Elin Stierna talks about the trends that influence her work right mow.

Raise your glasses to playfulness
Bold patterns are coming strong. The bigger and brighter, the better. Our colourful, ‘60s-flirting FRAMKALLA series is just the thing to be seen with.
A big, yellow pendant lamp made from origami-inspired spirals connected to a round shape emits diffused light in a red room.
The return of light
With trend elements lighting up the room left and right, it takes something truly eye-catching to take centre stage. Luckily, there’s GRIMSÅS. Like a frozen moment of fireworks, it hangs ready to steal the show at all times.
Several ÄDELHET candle stick or teal light holders in grey, white and green with candles in them, standing on a table.
Setting the mood just right
Sometimes you want intensity, at other times calm. ÄDELHET candleholders straddle that gap with ease (and hold both tealights and candlesticks). Stack, combine and colour-block them to suit any occasion.
We love to see our customers get creative with our products. Go for it! But please note that altering or modifying IKEA products so they can no longer be re-sold or used for their original purpose, means the IKEA commercial guarantees and your right to return the products will be lost.
