How to choose your best fit mattress and clean it ?

Try it at home
100 days

When it comes to mattresses, one size doesn’t fit all. People are built differently. People sleep differently. We understand this, which is why our range of mattresses offers you a wide choice of materials, support and price levels; everything you need to find a perfect match for you.

How to choose a mattress

To find the right mattress for you, you should think about:

1. Firm or medium firm?
We offer a variety of different mattresses. Deciding if you want a firm or medium firm mattress will help you narrow down your choice considerably.

2. Your budget
We have mattresses to fit every budget—from basic mattresses to mattresses made with high quality natural materials. But you can be sure that every one is designed to give you a good night’s sleep.

3. How does it feel?
The most important thing when choosing a mattress is to have a good lie down. Try the mattress without thick jackets and coats and in the position you usually fall asleep in. It is important that the mattress provide the right support. When lying in bed, the spine should be supported in its neutral position This way, you can tell if the mattress is a good match for you.

Foam & latex mattresses

Foam and latex mattresses mold to the contours of your body for personalized support and both materials absorb movement. Plus, these soft, flexible, resilient mattresses are long lasting because they can be turned regularly. Our foam and latex mattresses come with stretchable, knitted ticking on top that boosts point-elasticity, relieving stress on your hips, shoulders and neck.

A memory foam mattress molds after your body

The most obvious advantage with these mattress types, that most people are aware of, is the fact that the mattress molds after your body. This is especially true for the memory foam mattress, which makes it extra comfortable by providing proper support. The mattresses structure spares you from putting a lot of pressure on any specific body part, regardless of your sleeping position. Some of our mattresses come with stretchable, knitted ticking on the surface that boosts point-elasticity which make them even better at relieving stress on your neck, hips and shoulders.

Absorbs impact

Another advantage, that people often are less aware of, is that any kind of foam mattress or latex mattress absorbs impact from movement. This makes it an ideal mattress type for both somebody that tosses and turns at night as well as for somebody that shares their bed with a fidgety partner.

Spring mattresses

Spring mattresses offer great support by distributing your body weight evenly. You won’t feel too warm either, as the open spring construction allows air to circulate. To find your perfect sleeping solution, choose a firm or medium firm mattress, paired with a slatted bed base or mattress base. Sprung mattresses are very hardwearing, and a mattress topper will both enhance comfort and protect you mattress for years to come.

Pocket spring mattresses with multiple layers for great comfort

Our pocket spring mattresses are designed with multiple layers which work together to provide comfort, support and softness.

Some of our spring mattresses have two layers and some have three. There is always a main layer of springs at the bottom of the mattress. This layer is mostly built to give firm support. The next softer layer is either soft filling or another layer of smaller and softer springs. The mattresses that have two layers of springs also have a layer of soft filling at the top. This means that all our spring mattresses have a layer of soft filling closest to your body, to ensure you don’t feel individual metal springs cutting into your body.

A cool and even sleeping temperature

A pocket spring mattress is naturally well ventilated. The individual springs leave a lot of space for air to flow through and keep the mattress cool.  Additionally, our pocket spring mattresses are made with natural materials such as latex, coconut fiber, cotton, and wool. These materials help maintain a cool sleeping temperature by allowing air to circulate within the mattress, as well as helping wick away moisture.

Also remember that the materials closest to your skin can greatly affect your sleeping temperature. Make sure to choose comfortable bedding that breathes. We have a wide selection of bed linen in different styles and materials to suit both your bedroom and your body.

Roll packed mattress

Without compromising on quality, most of our mattresses are rolled-packed making it easy to fit into your car. Good for your pocket and the environment.

When you get your mattress home

Before using for the first time, it’s normal for new mattresses to feel a bit too firm, so you should allow one month for your body to get used to the mattress and for the mattress to get used to your body. New materials also have their own particular smell. We recommend airing the mattress to help eliminate any smell. If you buy a roll packed mattress, you can use it straight away but keep in mind that it takes 3–4 days of use for them to regain their shape.

Mattress care and cleaning

Complement the mattress with a mattress protector or a separate pillow top. It makes it more hygenic, as it is easy to remove and clean. Some mattress and pillow tops have a washable cover. Read the tag inside the cover for more information.

Make sure that the zipper is closed when washing the mattress cover. Vacuuming the mattress helps to remove dust and mites. Use upholstrery cleaner to remove stains.

If your mattress is turnable you should turn it about every three months. Turning a mattress ensures more even wear and helps to prolong its comfort. Don’t fold the mattress. It can damage the springs and materials inside.

Even the best mattresses become less comfortable with age, and all mattresses accumulate dust and mites over the years. So even if the mattresses have a 25-year warranty, we still recommend that you change your mattress every 8-10 years.
