We’ve created comprehensive IKEA guarantees for many of our products and have gathered them all here. Because, while we believe in the quality and durability of our products, at IKEA we like to have your back.

General conditions for all guarantees
The extent of the guarantee given for each product is described alongside each product below. The following description and conditions of the guarantee listed as below are only applicable to products sold at IKEA Hong Kong.
Each guarantee lasts for the number of years stated against each product below, starting from the date of purchase.
The guarantees are valid from the original date of first purchase of the product. In order to rely on this guarantee, proof of purchase by presenting the original, copy or photo of sales memo or the print-out of Online sales order invoice issued by IKEA Hong Kong/Macau is required to evidence the first purchase and all subsequent replacements.
To be able to rely on this guarantee you need to follow the specific care instructions for every product.
IKEA HK/Macau will examine the structural and workmanship defects of the sofa and armchair products as alleged by the customer. After examination of the product and consultation with the manufacturer (as needed), IKEA HK/Macau shall determine in its sole discretion whether the product is covered under this guarantee. All decisions by IKEA HK/Macau shall be final.
Subject to confirmation that this guarantee shall apply, IKEA HK/Macau shall in its sole discretion either repair or replace a defective product as follows:
- IKEA HK/Macau shall either repair the product or replace it with a new one of the same or similar model. If the model of the product the customer first purchased is out of stock, he may choose a new product of equal value or a different model of the same category. If the customer chooses a more expensive product, the customer shall pay the difference. If the customer chooses a cheaper product, the balance will be forfeited.
- The guarantee period of the replacement product shall be the balance of years from the date of the first purchase.
- The product under guarantee must be returned to IKEA HK/Macau at the time of replace
This guarantee does not apply to products that have been stored or installed incorrectly, used inappropriately, abused, misused, altered, or cleaned with wrong cleaning methods or wrong cleaning products.
- Products that has not been maintained in accordance with the care Instructions stated overleaf and/or maintenance leaflet that accompanies the product.
- This guarantee does not cover normal wear and tear, cuts or scratches, or damage caused by impacts or accidents.
- This guarantee does not cover damages caused by external factors such as exposure to the sun, dampness, dust or mites etc.
- This guarantee does not apply to bargain items, or any products without the original, copy or photo of sales invoice; Other faults or damages attributable to the purchaser.

Over 10 years from the date of the sales memo
- IKEA HK will offer a rebate amount, which is based on a fixed percentage of the purchase price of the mattress at the first purchase. No credit will be given to any service charges. The customer can only use the rebate amount to purchase another mattress from IKEA HK within the specified period. If the customer chooses a more expensive mattress, the customer shall pay the difference. If the customer chooses a cheaper mattress, the balance will be forfeited.
- The guarantee period of the replacement mattress shall be the balance of the 25 years from the date of the first purchase.
- The mattress under guarantee must be returned to IKEA HK at the time of exchange or refund.
- IKEA HK will arrange for free collection services for the old mattress whilst the Customer shall pay for the delivery services for the new mattress at the prevailing rate provided that the collection address is the same as the delivery address and the collection service is rendered at the same time as the delivery. IKEA HK shall impose such rates of charges and conditions of delivery as it deems fit from time to time.
- The rebate shall be calculated as follows:
No. of years from the date of the sales memo >10-15 years >15-20 years >20-25 years Rate of rebate at the purchase price of the first purchased mattress 50% 35% 20% Example: A customer purchased a mattress with this Guarantee at $1,000 on Aug 1, 2006. If a manufacturing defect is found in 2022 (i.e. 16 years later), $350 (i.e. $1,000 x 35%) will be rebated to the customer for purchasing a new mattress at IKEA HK.
