How to arrange a kids’ sleepover

Oh, the anticipation! We all remember our first sleep-over and that says a lot about what a big event it is for everyone involved. So, let’s do our very best to make it a happy memory! A plan that includes a warm and personal welcome, fun activities, a comfy bed and at least one stuffed animal, is always a good start.

Welcome – let’s settle in and get the party going!

Let’s plan this sleepover together, since being the young host of the event can be almost as nervous as being the guest! Write or draw all the fun activities you can think of for the day. What to do? What to eat? When to eventually sleep? Put it all up there on SKÅDIS pegboard, like a big buffet of activities.

The Friendship Café

One fun thing to do together is baking cakes or preparing fruit on a stick – or both! Then, with lots of goodies ready to go, you might as well open a café. The interior of this café is super comfortable, you’re even allowed to lay down on SLÄKT foldable mattress! The only question is whether you invite the rest of the family, and if you prefer them to be guests or staff?

Paper and pens are the beginning of a lot of fun!

Creativity sparks when clever minds get together over arts and crafts. A few products from the MÅLA series are all you need to create anything from colourful houses or fine art. Or why not make paper fortune tellers with different activities or challenges on? It could be things like singing a song, standing on one leg for a minute, tickle mom or create an instrument. Then add a dice and the game is on!

Tidying up made almost as easy as making a mess

One of many benefits of TROFAST storage combination is that the boxes can be pulled out and carried away in no time, to show all the toys and crafts without a second of hesitation. Needless to say, when it’s time to tidy up and wind down for the night, those same boxes are almost as simple to fill up and put back again. I might be done with a little less enthusiasm, but at least it’s still quick and easy.

Remember, it’s called a sleepover, not a stay awake all night-over.

Winding down can be easier said than done, so make sure to start in time. Pull down the blinds and turn down the lights, get the beds ready, snuggle up and read a story. NATTHÄGER duvet covers and pillowcases make it easy to pick a favourite bedding, while DJUNGELSKOG soft toys inspire the dreams.

A mutual friend lights up the night

Once the light is turned off, it’s easy to feel a little anxious, especially if you’re away from home. Then TÖVÄDER night light will help push that feeling away. Should there be need for more friends, TIGERFINK storage can hold a whole bunch of soft toys and is easy to pull close to the beds. You’re not alone!

Room for a dozen friends

Most of them are stuffed, but they’re still great friends and welcome to join every minute of this sleepover.

Get out before it blows!

The best parties are the ones you leave in time, just when everything is at its peak. When it comes to sleepovers, that’s usually right after breakfast. Before leaving, make or pick a drawing that will become a memory of the big event. Because to pack an overnight bag, settle in, socialise with a friend’s family and sleep tight in a new environment are all big steps on shaky legs. But the feeling of complete confidence the morning after – that beats it all! And for those occasions when a certain little one didn’t really make it through and stayed overnight, why not extend the invitation to come back for breakfast?
