  • We push 100kg weights onto the seat 50,000 times - and 30kg onto the back just as many times. We want to make sure the frame retain it’s stability and the cushions their resilience and comfort.

Comfy and with a visible structure. We’ve added viscose and linen to this durable cover in cotton and polyester to create a mix that is both functional and beautiful. And it’s also easy to remove and wash!

Hillared cover is woven from cotton and polyester – with viscose and linen added. The durable cover has a clear structure, yet is soft and comfortable at the same time.

Extra covers to alternate with mean it's easy to give both your sofa and room a new look.

The cover is easy to keep clean since it can be machine washed and is easy to take off and put on again.

Safety and compliance

This fabric's ability to resist abrasion has been tested to handle 30,000 cycles. A fabric that withstands 15,000 cycles or more is suitable for furniture that should withstand everyday use in the home.

The cover has a lightfastness level of 5 (the ability to resist colour fading) on a scale of 1 to 8. According to industry standards, a lightfastness level of 4 or higher is suitable for home use.

What is cotton?

Cotton is one of the world's most appreciated and used natural fibres. Textiles in cotton are soft, hardwearing and can be washed at high temperatures. They are also good at breathing and absorbing moisture – making them pleasant to wear close to the body. Today at IKEA we use more and more recycled cotton and strive to make sure that all the new cotton we use has been grown and produced with less and less amounts of pesticides, fertilisers and water.

55% cotton, 25 % polyester (100% recycled), 12% viscose/rayon, 8% linen

Environment

The cotton in this product is grown with less water, less chemical fertilizers and less chemical pesticides, while increasing profit margins for the farmers. That way, we lower our environmental impact. We want to have a positive impact on the planet. That is why by 2030, we want all materials in our products to be recycled or renewable, and sourced in responsible ways.
